My church under the snow, this morning.

Hier soir, vers 22 heures, je faisais la vaisselle tranquillement et puis j'ai tourné la tête vers la fenêtre et j'ai vu qu'il y avait du mouvement dehors. Je pensais qu'il pleuvait mais non! C'était de la neige! Il a neigé hier soir! Et beaucoup même. Avec Elena, on a mis nos manteaux, nos bottes et on est sorties sur le parking pour prendre quelques photos. Et puis on a décidé de se promener un peu en ville, sous la neige qui tombait. Et croyez-moi, ce n'était pas de petits flocons qui tombaient du ciel! En même pas deux minutes, j'étais blanche des pieds à la tête. C'était magique, même si il faisait bien froid.

Last night, around 10p.m, I was washing the dishes in the kitchen and then I turned my head toward the window and noticed movement outside. I thought it was raining but! It was snowing! It snowed last night! And it snowed a lot. With Elena, we put on our coats, our snow boots, and we went to take some pictures on the parking lot. Then, we decided to go for a walk downtown, under the snow. Believe me, these snowflakes weren't tiny ones! In less than two minutes, I was white from head to toes. It was magical even if it was quite cold out there.

Ce matin, je me suis armée de courage (et de mon appareil photo) et je suis montée à Brown pour prendre quelques photos des bâtiments sous la neige. Il n'y avait pas un seul étudiant là-bas et même si les allées étaient dégagées, les espaces verts étaient immaculés et personne (ou presque) n'avait marché dans la neige qui était donc parfaits. C'était vraiment très joli, surtout avec le ciel tout bleu et le soleil qui brillait au-dessus de ma tête. Mais cette neige, ça veut dire que l'hiver a vraiment commencé et que la terrible météo dont on me parle depuis des mois va enfin arriver. Il doit neiger toute la journée demain...

This morning, I gathered some courage (as well as my camera) and I walked up to Brown to take some pictures of the buildings in the snow. There wasn't a single student in sight, and even if the pathways had been cleared,  almost nobody had walked on the snowed-in grass. It was like a big white blanket. It was really pretty, especially with the blue sky and the sun shining above my head. But this snow means that winter has really started and that the terrible weather people have been warning me about for months is upon us. It's supposed to snow all day long tomorrow...
