Comme vous pouvez l'imaginer, les Etats-Unis sont un pays plein de démesure. Tout est disproportioné par rapport à ce à quoi j'ai l'habitude en France. Après 7 mois passés dans le Rhode Island, je pensais m'y être habituée. Pourtant hier soir, nous sommes allées au restaurant et en dessert, j'ai commandé une part de gâteau au citron. Le gâteau en lui-même était excellent bien que trop sucré (mais ici, tout est sucré de toute façon). Non, ce qui m'a choqué, c'est la taille de la part que le serveur m'a amené. Je suis certaine que vous ririez tous si quelqu'un avait pris une photo de ma tête quand le serveur a posé l'assiette devant moi. Comme vous pouvez le voir sur la photo ci-dessus et sur celle au-dessous, ma part de gâteau était gigantesque! Même que après l'avoir terminée, j'ai eu mal à la tête à cause de tout ce sucre! Une fois de temps en temps, ça ne peut pas faire de mal, mais imaginez que certaines personnes mangent autant de sucre à longueur de temps! Personnellement, j'ai eu mon quota pour la semaine là! Et comme ce petit incident m'a vraiment surprise, je me suis dit que ça pouvait faire un bon sujet d'article. Je vous présente donc différentes photos de nourriture prises depuis mon arrivée en août.

This piece of cake is a real monster!
As you can imagine, the United States is a country where everything is so much bigger than what I'm used to in France. After seven months spent in Rhode Island, I thought I had finally gotten used to it. Yet, we went to the restaurant last night and as a dessert I ordered some lemon cake, which was delicious (but too sweet even though everytihng here is too sweet anyway). No, what shocked me was the size of the piece of cake the waiter brought me. I'm pretty sure that you would all laugh if someone had taken a picture of my face when he put the plate in front of me. As you can see on the two pictures above, it was gigantic! It was so big and sweet and when I was done with it, I got a headache because of the sugar. Having such a cake once in a while won't kill me, but some people eat so much sugar all the time and I find it hard to believe that they don't realize how bad it can be for their health. As far as I'm concerned, I've got my sugar quota for the rest of the week! And since this little incident really surprised me, I thought it would be a good subject for a blog post. I then present some pictures of food I've taken these past seven months.
