Depuis mardi 10 avril, j'ai 23 ans! Mais je ne ressens aucun changement notable dû au fait d'avoir un an de plus. Pour moi, le mardi est le jour le plus chargé de la semaine. J'enseigne/j'ai cours non-stop de 12h30 à 18h50 et puis je dois attendre jusqu'à 20h05 pour prendre le bus et rentrer à Providence. Autant dire que ce n'est pas le planning idéal pour une journée d'anniversaire! Mais j'ai quand même passé une bonne journée. Comme j'apportais toujours des bonbons à l'école quand c'était mon anniversaire, j'en ai aussi apportés pour mes collègues et mes étudiants. C'est une tradition qu'ils ont tous beaucoup appréciée! Et puis la secrétaire avait fait un très bon gâteau au chocolat! Le soir, après être rentrée à Providence, je suis allée manger une part de gâteau chez Pastiche avec Steve et Angela. J'ai même eu droit à une bougie sur ma part de gâteau à la mousse de citron vert (très bon, comme d'habitude). Mes amis m'ont également beaucoup gâtée! Ils m'ont offert deux paires de boucles d'oreille et un collier! Vendredi 13, c'était l'anniversaire d'Angela et nous avons fêté son anniversaire et le mien chez eux, avec leurs amis. J'ai eu un très joli bouquet de tournesols en cadeau! Et puis hier, j'ai encore fêté mon anniversaire avec mes amis de l'université à The Cheesecake Factory. Nous sommes arrivés au restaurant à 17 heures mais nous avons dû patienter presque une heure pour avoir une table! C'est incroyable l'attente qu'il y a à ce restaurant! Mais je pense que ça en vaut la peine parce que la nourriture est très bonne et leur menu est immense! Si quelqu'un n'arrive pas à trouver quelque chose qu'il aime, c'est un cas perdu! Comme le nom de ce restaurant l'indique, ils sont spécialisés dans les cheesecakes, ces gâteaux au fromage, pour le dessert. J'ai choisi le plus simple avec de la confiture de cerise et de la glace à la vanille. La serveuse savait que c'était mon anniversaire et quand elle m'a apporté mon assiette, elle était accompagnée de cinq autres serveurs et ils m'ont chanté "Joyeux anniversaire"! Ils connaissaient même mon nom pour la chanson! Et sur ma part de cheesecake, il y avait même des confettis comestibles! C'était parfait. Et encore une fois, j'ai été très gâtée par Patty et Mary avec des cadeaux venant du Panama et du Costa Rica. Mary m'a offert un sac à main absolument magnifique! Pour résumer, je pense que vous avez compris que j'ai vraiment passé un très bon anniversaire aux Etats-Unis, le tout agrémenté d'un colis de nourriture envoyé par mes parents et rempli de choses plus délicieuses les unes que les autres!

Since Tuesday 10th of April, I'm 23! But I don't feel any significant change due to the fact that I'm one year older. For me, Tuesday is the busiest day of the week. I'm teaching/in class from 12.30 to 6.50pm and then I have to wait until 8.05pm to get the bus back to Providence. You can imagine that it's the ideal schedule for a birthday! But I still managed to have a good day. I used to bring candies to school every time it was my birthday so I brought some candies to my colleagues and my students. It's a tradition that they all seemed to like a lot! My Suite Coordinator had also baked an amazing chocolate cake. In the evening, Steve and Angela joined me at Pastiche to eat some cake. I even got a candle on my slice of Fresh Lime Mousse Tart (excellent, as usual)! My friends really spoiled me. They gave me two beautiful pairs of earrings and a necklace! On Friday 13th, it was Angela's birthday and we celebrated her birthday and mine at their house with their friends. I was given some really beautfil sunflowers as a gift. Finally, yesterday, I celebrated again with my friends from university. We went to The Cheesecake Factory. Even though we arrived there at 5pm, we had to wait almost one hour to get a table. The wait at this restaurant is just insane but I believe that it is worth it. The food is good and their menu seems endless. If somebody cannot find something they like in their selection, they are a lost cause! As its name says it, this restaurant is specialized in cheesecakes for dessert. I chose the simplest one, plain with some cherry preserve and two scoops of vanilla ice cream. The waitress knew that it was my birthday and when she brought my plate, she was followed by five other waiters and they sang "Happy birthday" to me! They even knew my name for the song! On my slice of cheesecake, I also had some edible confettis. It was perfect. And once again, I was spoiled by Patty and Mary with some gifts from Panama and Costa Rica. Mary gave me an absolutely beautiful handbag! To sum it up, I think you understood that I had a very good birthday in the United States, topped up by a package sent by my parents and full of delicious French food!
